The Invisalign® system straightens your teeth with a series of custom-made clear aligners, which are comfortable and practically invisible. It was developed by Align Technology together with leading Orthodontists. And it works – over 1.4 million patients worldwide have made Invisalign® their clear choice.
The clear plastic aligners are custom-made for each patient, following discussions with their dentist and a detailed diagnosis based on clinical experience and computer analysis. Before treatment begins, the whole programme will have been planned, so that each set of aligners can be replaced after two weeks with the next, slightly different set. Provided the patient commits fully and wears the aligners for 22-23 hours per day, the teeth will slowly but surely be shifted into the desired position.

Crowded teeth are a condition where you do not have enough room for your teeth to fit normally. This can cause plaque or tartar and other harmful bacteria to build up, as it is harder for you to brush and floss well.
Gaps between teeth are when there is extra space between two or more of your teeth. This can cause pockets between your teeth and gums and can cause food to get stuck, making them tender and sore. This might also lead to gum disease.
An open bite is when your upper and lower teeth don't touch when you close your mouth. An open bite can make it hard for you to chew or difficult to bite even the most common foods like apples.
An underbite is when you close your mouth, and your lower front teeth are in front of your upper teeth. In many cases, this is actually a problem with your lower jaw being too far forward. An underbite can make it hard to chew properly and speak clearly, and it might cause your teeth to wear down more quickly.
An overbite is when your upper front teeth overlap with your lower front teeth. Most people have at least a little overbite. When your overbite is too large, your doctor might tell you that you have a deep bite. This can cause problems, from your teeth wearing down to pain in your jaw.
A crossbite is when you close your mouth, and yet some of your upper teeth are sitting inside your lower teeth rather than on the outside. A crossbite can make your teeth wear down or chip. It can also make your gums start to recede or make little notches above your gum line. This kind of damage can lead to painful gum problems or even bone loss.

Your Invisalign® journey begins with a consultation, where your dentist will assess your smile and create a personalised digital treatment plan. Once your custom aligners are made, you’ll wear them for 20–22 hours a day, changing to a new set every 1–2 weeks as instructed.
Treatment can take as little as 6 months for simple cases, although more complex cases may take longer. Most patients begin noticing changes within a few weeks.
Invisalign® uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually straighten your teeth without brackets or wires.
Each aligner is custom-made using Invisalign®’s SmartTrack™ material and designed to move your teeth according to your personalised treatment plan. Because they’re removable, you can continue eating your favourite foods and maintain your normal brushing and flossing routine.
Your dentist will discuss whether Invisalign® is suitable for your smile during your consultation.
Invisalign® is suitable for most adults and teenagers looking for a discreet way to straighten their teeth and improve their bite.
During your consultation, your dentist will assess your smile, discuss your goals, and determine whether Invisalign® is the right treatment for you. They’ll also explain your expected treatment time, costs, and whether features such as small tooth-coloured attachments are required to achieve the best results.
You’ll typically attend review appointments every 4–6 weeks, with new aligners usually changed every 1–2 weeks.
The cost of Invisalign® varies depending on the complexity of your case and the length of treatment required.
In many cases, Invisalign® costs a similar amount to traditional braces. During your consultation, we’ll provide a personalised treatment plan along with a clear breakdown of costs and any finance options available.
Invisalign® is the world’s leading clear aligner system, trusted by millions of patients worldwide.
Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign® aligners are virtually invisible, removable, and made from advanced SmartTrack™ material for a comfortable fit and predictable tooth movement. This allows you to continue enjoying your normal lifestyle while achieving a straighter smile.
In many cases, yes.
Invisalign® can often correct teeth that have shifted following previous orthodontic treatment. It may also be suitable if you have crowns or veneers, although this depends on your individual circumstances.
If you currently wear braces or have bridgework, your dentist will assess whether Invisalign® is the best option for your smile.
Invisalign® is designed to fit easily into your lifestyle.
The aligners are virtually invisible and can be removed for eating, drinking, brushing and flossing. There are no food restrictions, but you’ll need to wear your aligners for 20–22 hours a day for the best results.
Some people experience mild pressure when changing to a new set of aligners, but this usually settles within a few days. You may also notice a slight lisp initially, although this typically disappears as you adjust.
Avoid smoking while wearing your aligners, and always remove them before chewing gum.
Keep your aligners clean by brushing them gently with lukewarm water and using Invisalign® cleaning products where recommended.
Always brush your teeth before putting your aligners back in after eating to help prevent staining and maintain good oral hygiene.
If you lose or damage an aligner, contact your dentist as soon as possible. Replacement aligners can only be supplied through your Invisalign® provider.
Once your treatment is complete, you’ll usually need to wear retainers to help keep your teeth in their new position.
Your dentist will advise how often you should wear your retainers and recommend the most suitable option for your smile. If your retainers are lost or damaged, replacements can be arranged through your Invisalign® provider.
